September 16, 2015

Minister Frances Fitzgerald Officially Opens Ireland's First EN Certified  State of the Art Control Centre in Naas, Co. Kildare

Manguard Plus, Ireland’s leading Irish-owned private security company, together with Minister for Justice and Equality Frances Fitzgerald, today announced the opening of their brand new €1m Command and Control Centre at Manguard Plus head offices in Tougher Business Park, Naas Co. Kildare. Creating over 40 jobs, this state of the art Command and Control Centre is the first of its kind in the country and is set to revolutionise the security industry in Ireland.

The opening of Manguard Plus’ Command and Control Centre is the first in Ireland (out of 41 centres) to comply with the new EN Standard Licensing introduced by the Private Security Authority in December 2014. This EN standard regulates the construction of the centre, the communications into the centre and the back up routines and protocols. It means that Manguard Plus’ new Command and Control Centre is built and operates to the highest possible international standard for such centres, safeguarding information and assuring continuity of service.

As the heart of all Manguard Plus security contracts, the Command and Control Centre is now fully operational and operating 24 hours a day. It is the first truly ‘paperless’ office with integrated computer systems that ‘talk’ to each other, bringing a whole new dimension to the security industry and in return allows Manguard Plus to offer significant savings to existing and future clients.

Bill Brown, Managing Director at Manguard Plus says:

“At Manguard Plus, we are at the forefront of security innovation, safeguarding our client’s business, staff and assets to the highest of certified standards. Following months of planning, we are very proud to officially open our brand new Command and Control Centre. As the first of its kind in Ireland, we strived to build to the highest EN-standard and certified centre possible, from bricks and light bulbs to security doors, ventilation systems and integrated IT systems, setting a new standard for security in Ireland.”

Frances Fitzgerald, Minister for Justice and Equality says:

“Today’s announcement of 40 new jobs, as part of a €1m investment by Manguard Plus, is a welcomed boost for the security industry in Ireland. A real Irish success story both locally in Kildare, and nationally, Manguard Plus has positioned themselves at the forefront of private security services in Ireland today.  With the company’s innovation and first to market approach following the opening of Ireland’s only monitoring centre built to new European and PSA-approved standards, Manguard Plus are further safeguarding information and assuring continuity of service for clients.”

Manguard Plus will be 20 years in business in 2016 and is the market leader in the provision of security services in Ireland today.  This new Command and Control Centre will also be home to the company’s unique client services, which include:

·       CCTV Monitoring - Manguard Plus operate a software platform that consolidates our clients’ CCTV systems from a wide range of security products into one simple operator interface. This provides clients with alternative solutions to secure their business and offers a significant cost reduction through the application of remote monitoring and response services from the new 24-hour Command and Control Centre and dedicated patrol and response team.

·       Manguard Plus Client Portal – a bespoke client web portal which allows Manguard Plus clients access to management information, policies and updates in relation to service questions and / or issues including health and safety and environmental matters – all of which can be posted, stored and responded to on our clients dedicated secure portal

·       Manguard Plus Staff Portal – Manguard Plus operates a unique web based staff portal that can be accessed and updated remotely via a tablet, PC or smartphone. It provides full access to all new company systems and policies and enables staff to communicate remotely with our administrative support teams 24 hours a day via the net

·       Timeguard – Manguard Plus developed a comprehensive integrated management system (IMS) called Timeguard which allows the company to deliver individual and contractual requirements and monitor internal affairs in an efficient and effective manner. This IMS is an online software platform enabling a clear 360-degree visibility across our business, its operation and supporting processes

In addition to this, Manguard Plus’ Command and Control Centre also gives room for an extension to the company’s existing offices and a fully equipped training facility upstairs, which will be completed in the last quarter of 2015 – creating an additional 10 jobs in admin and training and allowing Manguard Plus to train security staff to the highest QQI level possible, putting them at the forefront of security services in Ireland today.

This article is very ambiguous. Are Manguard claiming that they have actually been certified (by an independent accreditation body) to EN50518? Or are they simply saying they comply with EN-50518.

We can all say we comply, its the certification that matters!
