Plane Sailing...Create Security win their most bizarre contract to-date!

May 11, 2016

Entrepreneur David McGowan recently transported a Boeing 767 from Shannon airport to Enniscrone in Co. Sligo.

The reason? He hopes the plane will be the centre piece in his new business venture “Quirky Glamping”. The “Glampsite” will include various modes of transport transformed into camping accommodation, including busses, taxis and a train.

The Boeing 767 was transported by barge from Clare to Sligo via a barge along the Atlantic coast  and the story has been played out on the Anton Savage show on Today FM plus RTE, BBC & Sky News over the past number of weeks and it seems that he has captured the imagination of many supporters.

It certainly captured our imagination and we wanted to be a part of it.

Create Security based in Drogheda have been in business for 5 years and our services include CCTV / Intruder Alarm / Access Control and many other security services. We thought we could offer David our services for alarming the plane when it arrived on site and so we contacted David on Friday night as they were trying to get the plane ashore.

Thankfully David accepted our offer and we went to the site to carry out a survey.

Our moto is “Creating Solutions for your Security “ but even we never imagined that this would include a Boeing 767. As far as we know, it’s the first time an alarm has been installed on a Boeing 767.

As you can imagine, it’s not a straight forward install and one of the issues that arose was that there’s no power on the site. However just as our name suggests we found a solution and are installing a system next week.

We will be installing Videofied which is a state of the art, wireless, video verified intruder alarm. Videofied includes PIR detectors with built-in cameras for video verification. In the event of an intruder, MotionViewer cameras take a ten second video of the area and the video is then immediately transmitted to our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC).

The main benefit of using Videofied is the entire system can operate from batteries so no power is required.  The batteries offer a 4 year life, advanced wireless bi directional radio, a large choice of radio devices, keypads and badge readers for arming, and indoor and outdoor sirens as an acoustic deterrent. The fact that all of this is completely wireless makes it ideal our installation on a Boeing 767.
