CDVI Launches Automatic Mask Detection Solution

The FTC1000 also measures body temperature and recognises up to 30,000 faces

CDVI, a leading global access control manufacturer, has released a new high-tech biometric solution for helping businesses operate safely as the UK eases out of the COVID-19 lockdown.

A lightweight and aesthetic solution with aluminium alloy casing and ultra-white tempered glass panel, the FTC1000 helps keep staff and visitors safe from the risk of virus transmission.

It is now compulsory to wear a face mask in shops and on public transport in the majority of the UK. With automatic mask detection, the FTC1000 makes it easy to manage access into a premises based on compliance with the new law.

The FTC1000 is a powerful facial recognition terminal that can be combined with locking products to create a secure biometric access control solution. The stylish unit automatically detects whether the user is wearing a mask and measures their body temperature to within 0.3°C accuracy. Businesses can configure their preferences to allow or disallow access based on either of these criteria. Ensuring that individuals who are not wearing an appropriate face covering or whose temperature is outside of the normal range do not enter the premises helps to reduce risk by keeping potentially infectious people away from others in enclosed environments.

With a simple and intuitive browser-based configuration, businesses can incorporate advanced biometric technology into their day-to-day operation quickly and with minimal hassle. The FTC1000 can be mounted via multiple solutions, making installations simple, non-invasive and non-disruptive to business operation.

In addition, CDVI offers a wide range of completely touchless access control products that can be combined with the FTC1000 for a comprehensive contact-free solution.

“The FTC1000 is a fantastic addition to our existing range of COVID-secure touchless solutions. We’re proud to be able to help UK businesses get back on their feet and remain operational while complying with new regulations and keeping everybody safe.” – Paul Ramsay, General Manager, CDVI UK
