Grundig’s new ultra low light IP surveillance camera
Grundig’s new GCI-K5687T ultra low light IP surveillance camera produces colour images even under poor light conditions – which enables applications calling for high-quality ultra low light camera images in industrial CCTV environments.
The new Grundig surveillance camera is designed especially for uses in which little light is available, but for which a colour image is required for as long as possible. Auto iris DC, a lens focal length of 8 – 32 mm, and motorized autofocus particularly enhance the functions of number-plate recognition and perimeter surveillance. Moreover, with an image sensor featuring 1/1.8ʺ progressive scan CMOS (2 megapixels), and sensitivity colour of 0.005 lux @ F1.2, this camera – thanks to its high shutter speed – is ideally suited for applications such as automatic number-plate recognition (ANPR). It is also exceptionally impressive for perimeter surveillance owing to superior light sensitivity and a broad range of analytics functions.
AUTOMATIC NUMBER PLATE RECOGNITION (ANPR)
The enhancement of these functions by the Grundig GCI-K5687T camera enables effective recognition of number plates, even under poor light conditions. Vehicle number plates themselves are designed with excellent characteristics for use in the infrared (IR) spectrum, resulting in their great reflection of light. The Grundig IP camera accordingly offers outstanding properties for number-plate recognition in the IR spectrum: for example, an IR distance of 100 m. In addition, the IR LEDs are integrated with smart IR control. The new Grundig IP camera has removable IR cut filter with a day/night feature for greater sensitivity. The shutter speed of 1~1/100,000 sec, moreover, means that this advantage is still possible for vehicles moving at high speed.
PERIMTER SURVEILLANCE
As a result of its analytics functions, the Grundig GCI-K5687T additionally enables optimal application in perimeter surveillance. The virtual line feature enables effective surveillance of entries and exits to and from a defined zone. Embedded analytics implement face, audio, tampering, and direction detection – as well as effective surveillance for unattended baggage and advanced motion-detection functions.
ONVIF PROFILES
The system also features ONVIF protocol support: ONVIF Profile S und Profile G. Profile S supports streaming, and G enables edge recording. Edge recording offers protection from data loss: if the network connection is interrupted, the video stream is stored on the camera SD card. Once the network has been restored, the data are again transferred to the server.Â
Grundig’s new GCI-K5687T ultra low light camera is for users who are interested in IP camera applications in which good-quality colour recording is possible even under poor light.
As Christof Kraka, product manager at Grundig Security, summarizes: “This IP camera is the best we know for top-quality video surveillance under weak light conditions. It is essential for owners and operators who wish to protect their facilities with the best surveillance cameras available.”
